Designed to meet the storage needs of media creators and creative professionals, QNAP Thunderbolt 3 NAS features ultra-high transfer speeds with expandable data storage to tackle today's challenges in fast-paced multi-workstation environments. The newly-added SMB protocol in Apple Final Cut Pro X 10.3 makes collaboration between Mac and Windows users faster and simpler, greatly increasing productivity.
  • Ultra-high speed transfer
QNAP NAS with Thunderbolt 3 provides blazing-fast bandwidth (double the transfer speed of the previous generation) and enables an unprecedented high-speed connection with Thunderbolt 3 devices. QNAP Thunderbolt 3 NAS is also backward compatible with USB 3.1 storage, increasing its workability with non-Thunderbolt USB devices.
  • High availability with USB Type-C
The usage of USB Type-C by Thunderbolt 3 provides a universal connection from QNAP NAS to Thunderbolt devices as well as countless USB Type-C devices through a single cable, allowing file sharing and centralized data storage without the hassle of stringing multiple cables. The reversible Type-C connector makes it even simpler to connect external storage devices to NAS.
  • Thunderbolt 3 certified cable
Next-generation Thunderbolt 3 delivers bi-directional 20 Gbps speed. Use a certified Thunderbolt 3 40Gbps cable (with the Thunderbolt icon and "3") and an SLC/MLC SSD RAID5 configuration to enjoy the highest possible performance and the best storage allocation for your NAS.
  • Boosted productivity with smooth workflows
By supporting the SMB protocol, Final Cut Pro X 10.3 allows users to create a library on a NAS volume and use it as if it were on a local storage device. This simple-yet-important change allows users of Final Cut Pro X 10.3 (Mac users) and users of Adobe Premiere Pro (Windows users) to centrally store their video materials in the same shared folder on the NAS, greatly improves productivity for highly-collaborative projects in multi-workstation environments.
  • Collaborative video editing
Simultaneous online editing by multiple users is made possible as the SMB protocol on QNAP NAS runs faster and more stable than the NFS protocol used in previous versions. Multiple Final Cut Pro users can edit different events and projects for the same media files simultaneously and combine each piece later to speed up the editing process, making it especially ideal for fast-moving media environments. Collaboration is also highly simplified now that Mac and Windows users can share files through SMB networks for separate steps of production work.
  • Thunderbolt to Ethernet (T2E) converter
As Apple computers do not natively support 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Mac users previously needed to purchase a Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter to connect to high-speed 10GbE networks. The innovative T2E Converter bridges Thunderbolt and Ethernet networks, allowing Thunderbolt-enabled computers to connect to these networks via their Thunderbolt connection to the QNAP Thunderbolt NAS. This saves a 10GbE port and eliminates the need for Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapters.
  • Qfinder Pro enables quick access to NAS
QNAP Qfinder Pro allows users to quickly find and easily access the QNAP NAS that are located on the same LAN. You can mount your NAS through Qfinder Pro for direct access to specific shared folders. You can also configure basic Thunderbolt to Ethernet (T2E) settings with Qfinder Pro to make the most of available network resources. Qfinder Pro makes setup a one-time effort by memorizing your connection information, so you don't need to repeat the set-up process.
  • Expandable storage for massive 4K files
4K files can easily take up storage space very quickly. QNAP Thunderbolt expansion enclosures allow you to easily increase storage space to accommodate a large amount of high-resolution files.

Are we out on price?

We check our prices daily against a wide range of competitors to try to bring you the best deal. However, if you've spotted a better price offered by one of our competitors, please let us know and we'll do our very best to match it.

Price Match Challenge

Is the advertised price & availability genuine?

The IT sector is littered with companies who don't hold stock. Their websites advertise products that are sourced from third party suppliers. Pricing and availability data on such sites is typically retrieved from files or feeds which are often not refreshed regularly enough. The result? Cancelled orders, long lead times and disgruntled customers.

King of Servers is a major stockholder with full transparency into our stockholding and pricing. Our website is refreshed on a 15-minute cycle 24/7 so the pricing and availability you see online is both accurate and reliable.

We recommend you double check a cheaper price elsewhere is accurate and based on physical stock that can be shipped immediately before placing your order.

Do they really have the product in stock?

We show true stock counts on our website, not woolly messages like ‘in stock' or ‘available to order'. Stock levels are updated every 15 minutes 24/7 so you can see exactly how many units we have sat in our warehouse available for immediate despatch.

And speaking of shipping, did you know we offer same day deliveries? You can choose this or other timed services during checkout on our website or contact our sales team for a quote. Handy when you need the goods in a hurry!

Do they specify product condition?

Most web stores fail to specify the stock condition of the products they advertise for sale. It seems reasonable to assume that all products are brand new, unused units supplied in the sealed, original manufacturer packaging and protected by the full warranty but this isn't always the case.

A heavily discounted price can be a sign that the product in question may be a used or refurbished unit. Open/damaged box and ‘ex demo' units are also rife in the marketplace and warranty cover on such goods will be variable so it's wise to check what you're getting before committing to any purchase.

King of Servers displays the product condition on all our product pages. As well as detailing what the condition means, we specify the level of warranty condition allowing you to make an informed buying decision.

Ensure you compare like for like when shopping around for prices online.

Is the product covered by warranty?

All brand new products come with a full manufacturer warranty, right? Not always; it depends where the products were sourced from. You may have heard of the grey market or parallel imports? Manufacturers often stipulate the geographical regions in which their products are designated for sale. Unscrupulous suppliers seek to source goods from outside of these regions at cheaper costs which they pass on via cheaper prices. The downside is that the manufacturer might not honour the warranty in the event of a support call. Grey kit does not qualify for warranty support and if it fails, you could be significantly out of pocket.

All products offered for sale at King of Servers are sourced from legitimate channels and are covered by warranty. For added peace of mind, we can supply serial numbers up front which can be validated on the manufacturer's website to ensure warranty cover is in place prior to purchase.

Ask any potential supplier if they can supply serial numbers ahead of purchase. Any legitimate stockholder who has sourced the goods from the proper channels should be able and happy to do so.

Is the competitor trustworthy?

Look beyond the price and establish whether the company behind the product is a bona fide organisation that you can return to should you encounter issues down the line. This is particularly important if you've never heard of them before. It's relatively easy to set up a web shop nowadays which makes it difficult to differentiate between a one-man band operating out of a home office and a well-established, reputable bricks and mortar business. Sales T&Cs, returns policy and aftercare service are probably important areas for you to consider.
